Wedding in Chianti among the vineyards

Hills between Florence and Siena where the ceremony takes place among the vines and dinner is laid in an old estate courtyard.

Chianti lies between Florence and Siena and is known for Chianti Classico wine. Here are Greve, Radda, Castellina and Gaiole, and between them hills with vineyards, olive groves, farms and stone borghi. For a wedding this means a few real things: the Florence airport is not far, and guests stay in agriturismi right among the hills. The roads, however, are winding, and part of the estates run as working wineries with their own harvest schedules and field work.

What we arrange in Chianti

01

A ceremony among the vines

We choose a spot in the vineyard or the estate garden, taking account of light, wind and the schedule of work in the vines.

02

Dinner in a courtyard or cellar

An outdoor banquet, under a loggia or in a wine cellar with a tasting of the estate's wines.

03

Borghi and stone farmhouses

We find historic complexes with accommodation for guests, where the whole group can spend several days together.

04

Harvest season

If you pick September or October, we align the rhythm of the celebration with the work in the vineyard and the estate's calendar.

05

Stay in agriturismi

We distribute guests across the nearest agriturismi and small hotels and organise a shuttle on the winding roads.

06

A photo session on the hills

We plan a route among vineyards, cypresses and old roads timed for the best light.

Tell us about your celebration

Tell us the occasion, the date and the number of guests. We will suggest a format, a venue and vendors, and prepare a fixed written estimate before any work starts.

What we take into account in Chianti

Working estates

Most Chianti estates operate all year. We agree with the owner on access, parking, timing and the areas closed to guests.

Roads and late returns

After dinner, winding roads are better not driven by guests. We plan shuttles and their running hours in advance.

Two anchors

Florence and Siena are close, so guests arrive more easily and you have a wider choice of suppliers.

Wine as part of the programme

We can include a tasting, a cellar visit and wines chosen for the menu, without turning the wedding into a wine tour.

Questions about a wedding in Chianti

When is the best time for a wedding in Chianti?

May, June and September suit well. September and October bring the harvest, which is beautiful, but an estate may restrict access to the vineyards.

Can the ceremony take place right in the vineyard?

Often yes, but it depends on the estate owner and the stage of the season. We agree the place in advance and prepare a fallback.

How many guests do Chianti estates hold?

Capacity varies, from small farms for a group of a few dozen to large estates. We choose a venue after discussing the guest list.

Do we need to hire cars for guests?

Not necessarily. We arrange shuttles between the agriturismi and the venue, so guests can enjoy the wine without driving.

How far is Chianti from the airport?

From Florence airport the drive takes roughly half an hour to an hour, depending on the spot. From Pisa it is longer, and we build that into the schedule.
