Private dining in Florence in a closed room

A dinner for 8 to 40 guests in a separate room, or in a restaurant closed to everyone else for your evening.

Florence suits a small celebration dinner well: the centre has many restaurants with separate rooms in historic buildings, with vaulted ceilings, cellars and inner courtyards. For a group of 8 to 40 guests we select the room and, where needed, arrange for the restaurant to work only for you. We match capacity to the seating plan, check how guests reach the room, discuss the menu with the chef and agree the timing. One coordinator leads the whole evening, from the first call to the last guest. The estimate is fixed in writing before preparation starts.

What we arrange

01

Choosing the room

We propose several options in the centre and on the hills: vaulted rooms, wine cellars, rooms above the rooftops, closed courtyards. We look at guest numbers, acoustics and the walk from the door to the table.

02

A whole restaurant

If you need the entire restaurant and not a single room, we agree the day and hours in advance. This is usually possible when the dining room is not used by regular guests, so in season we settle it early.

03

Menu and tasting

We build the menu with the chef: Tuscan starters, pasta, meat or fish, dessert. Allergies, vegetarians and children are taken into account, and a tasting can be arranged before the evening.

04

Seating and service

We plan seating at one long table or several round ones, the order of courses, place cards and the number of waiting staff for your group.

05

Wines for dinner

We choose a wine list: Chianti Classico, Super Tuscans, white wines and a sparkling aperitif. If you wish, a sommelier can introduce each bottle.

06

The evening after dinner

We arrange an aperitif on the terrace, a musician, a toast or a quiet programme, and the return of guests to their hotels after dinner.

Tell us about your celebration

Tell us the occasion, the date and the number of guests. We will suggest a format, a venue and vendors, and prepare a fixed written estimate before any work starts.

Why entrust a private dinner to us

We know the limits of each room

Historic buildings can have narrow stairs and limits on noise and guest numbers. We check this before booking, not on the night.

We negotiate with the restaurant ourselves

The terms of a buyout, the minimum spend and the deposit are agreed with the manager in Italian and brought into one written estimate.

We account for the city

The team lives in Florence: we keep in mind the ZTL zones, car drop-off times and the walk from the hotel to the room.

One person for the whole evening

The coordinator welcomes guests, follows the courses and toasts and solves problems on the spot without disturbing you.

Common questions about private dining in Florence

How many guests fit in a private room?

It depends on the room: one seats 8 guests, another 40. We choose the room to fit your group and seating plan, not the other way round.

Can I hire a whole restaurant in Florence for one evening?

Many restaurants allow it, but the terms are set by the restaurant: day of the week, hours and minimum spend. We agree this in advance, and in season a few weeks ahead is better.

How far ahead should a private dinner be booked?

For an ordinary week a few weeks are enough. For spring, September and the weeks before Christmas it is better to start two to three months ahead.

Can we bring our own cake or ask for a special menu?

That is for the restaurant to decide. A cake can often be brought and a special menu agreed with the chef, and we ask about this on the first call.

Can you arrange music and a photographer for the dinner?

Yes, musicians, a photographer and a host are added as separate services. We first check whether the room allows live music and until what hour.
