18th Birthday Party in Florence
A coming-of-age celebration in two parts: dinner with the family, then a night with friends that parents can relax about.
An 18th birthday is usually celebrated twice: with the family, who may travel to Florence for the date, and with friends, who want to dance late. Both can happen in one place, for example a villa in the hills above the city, or be split: a family dinner in a palazzo room, then a party in a private venue with a DJ. Many of the guests will still be under eighteen, and that shapes the plan. Italian law forbids selling or serving alcoholic drinks to anyone under eighteen, so the bar is built around alcohol-free drinks and the house rules for guests of age are agreed with the family before invitations go out. One coordinator runs it all against a written estimate.
How the celebration works
A venue for both parts
A villa with a hall and garden, a limonaia (the old lemon house of a villa) or a private venue in town. We check how late music may play and how guests get back.
The family dinner
A table for parents, grandparents and godparents, toasts, a film of childhood photos. It can be held the day before or early in the evening, before the friends arrive.
The party for friends
DJ, lighting, a photo corner, the cake at midnight. The playlist is chosen by the person turning eighteen; we watch the time and the volume.
A bar by age
Alcohol-free cocktails for everyone. If the family decides to offer alcohol to guests who are eighteen, the bartenders serve it only after checking ID.
Guest list at the door
Door staff check names, so an invitation shared on social media does not bring strangers. Adults from the family and our coordinator stay to the end.
Shuttles home
Shuttles from a meeting point in Florence to the venue and back at set times. Parents skip the pick-up rounds and nobody drives after the party.
Tell us about your celebration
Tell us the occasion, the date and the number of guests. We will suggest a format, a venue and vendors, and prepare a fixed written estimate before any work starts.
What matters at a coming-of-age party
Rules settled in advance
Alcohol, finishing time, leaving the venue: we agree these with the parents before invitations, so nothing needs negotiating on the night.
The birthday teen leads on style
Music, dress code and the photo corner are their choice. We talk style with them and budget and safety with the parents.
Parents close, not centre stage
Adults can have their own lounge or terrace with a view of the party and without the speakers at full volume beside them.
A coordinator until the last shuttle
They handle suppliers, the door and transport, and are the last to leave. The written estimate is ready before anything is booked.
Questions about an 18th birthday in Florence
Where can we hold an 18th birthday party in Florence?
For a large group, villas in the hills around the city and venues that hire out for private parties work well. For a family dinner a room in a palazzo or a private room in a restaurant is enough.
Can alcohol be served at an 18th if some guests are younger?
Not to those under eighteen: Italian law forbids selling or serving them alcoholic drinks. The bar is built around alcohol-free cocktails, and we agree with the family whether and how adults are served.
How late can the party go on?
That depends on the venue's rules and the municipality's noise regulations, which are stricter near homes. We give you the real finishing time before booking.
We live abroad: can we celebrate our child's 18th in Florence?
Yes. Families often combine a trip with a dinner for relatives and a smaller party for the friends who travel too. We plan the venue, the hotel and the transfers together.
How far ahead should we book a venue for an 18th?
Saturdays in spring and early summer go first, so three to four months ahead is wise. A weekday evening or a winter date is usually easier to find.
