The season runs from late May to mid-September, with July and August the hottest, when midday calls for shade and cold drinks and the late afternoon moves on to an aperitivo. We look for a villa where the pool can genuinely be used for a party, confirm the rules on music and hours, build a menu of light food and take care of the bar, parasols and safety by the water. The format suits a birthday, a hen day, a gathering of friends or a family celebration.
What a pool party includes
A villa with a pool
We select the villa by guest numbers and by rules: how many people are permitted, until what hour music is allowed, whether glass is banned near the water.
Bar and cocktails
A bartender prepares spritzes, lemonades, alcohol-free cocktails and chilled wine. Ice, glasses and cooling arrive with the bar.
Light food
A Tuscan finger-food menu: bruschetta, grilled vegetables, cheese, fruit and ice cream. We do not offer heavy dishes in the heat.
Music
A DJ or a playlist with equipment of the right power. We agree the sound level with the villa's rules and the quiet hours observed in the area.
Shade and furniture
Parasols, a marquee, sun loungers, towels and small tables around the water, arranged so guests have a place both in the shade and in the sun.
Safety by the water
We mark the depth, keep breakable tableware off the pool edge and, when children attend, arrange a lifeguard or a nanny at the pool.

What decides a good pool party
The villa's rules on music
Many villas allow music only until a set hour or only acoustic. We read the rental agreement before booking, not after.
A plan B for the weather
Summer brings thunderstorms. We provide a covered terrace or a marquee and decide in advance at what hour the party moves under cover.
Shade at noon
The Tuscan sun in July and August is harsh. We check where the shade falls around the pool and add parasols and a marquee where it does not.
Cleaning and clean water
After a party the pool collects sunscreen and litter. We book cleaning and agree with the owner on a check of the water.
Questions about a pool party
When can a pool party be held in Tuscany?
Usually from late May to September, although an unheated pool is cold in May and September. Swimming is most comfortable from June to August; at the start and end of the season the party is built around the bar and the terrace.
Can we play loud music at the villa?
That depends on the villa's rules and on the setting: neighbours, municipal ordinances and quiet hours. We establish the limits before choosing the villa and adapt the sound to them.
What if it rains on the day?
We prepare an alternative: a covered terrace, a marquee or dinner moved into the house. We decide on the evening before and again on the morning of the party, following the forecast.
Is it suitable if children are coming?
Yes, but an adult responsible only for the water should be at the pool whenever children are present. We can offer a nanny or an entertainer for the day and mark the edge and the depth.
How many guests can we plan for?
The villa sets the number: the rental agreement normally limits guests on the property. We confirm the limit when choosing the villa and never invite more people than allowed.
