Photoshoot in Tuscany
A session for a couple, a family or friends: location, light, outfits and route planned before you set out.
A good photoshoot in Tuscany starts not with the camera but with the choice of light and place. In the morning and before sunset the hills of Chianti and Val d'Orcia give a soft golden light; at midday in town the shade of narrow streets and covered courtyards works better, and in August we try to shoot very early. We choose the photographer by style, discuss outfits with you, plan the route between locations and handle permissions where they are needed. The format suits a love story, a family portrait, an anniversary, a proposal or a keepsake session on a trip.
What a photoshoot includes
Choosing the photographer
We show portfolios in different styles, from documentary to editorial, and select the person whose pictures you actually like.
Location and route
We plan a route of two or three places: cypress hills, a medieval village, a vineyard or the streets of Florence, and keep the drives from eating into the light.
Outfits and styling
We advise on colours and fabrics, help you find a dress or a suit and, if needed, bring a stylist and make-up artist to the shoot.
Timing of the shoot
We start at dawn or 2 to 3 hours before sunset, when the light is soft. We check the forecast in advance and hold a spare date.
Family and group pictures
For a family with children we build in breaks and playful moments; for a group of friends the shoot is built around a walk and a shared table.
Selection and delivery
The photographer edits the selected frames and delivers a gallery within the agreed time. Contents and timing are fixed before the shoot.
Tell us about your celebration
Tell us the occasion, the date and the number of guests. We will suggest a format, a venue and vendors, and prepare a fixed written estimate before any work starts.
What preparation gives you
Light by season
We know where the hills are green in April, where the fields are burnt gold in July and where fog sits over the valleys in November, and choose the place for the mood you want.
Shooting permissions
Ticketed museums, some squares and private villas need consent. We find this out early and change the location if the answer is no.
A shoot without the crowd
Popular spots in Florence and Pienza fill up by nine in the morning. We build the schedule so that you arrive before the visitors.
Logistics handled
Transfers between locations, parking near the village, time to change and a spare outfit in case of rain are part of the plan, not improvised on the day.
Questions about a photoshoot in Tuscany
When is the best time for a photoshoot in Tuscany?
The best hours are sunrise and the last two hours before sunset. By season: April to June for green hills and poppies, September and October for golden vineyards, winter for fog. In summer we shoot in shade at midday or move the session.
How long does a photoshoot last?
For a couple or a small family an hour and a half to two hours at one or two locations is enough. If you want several places and outfit changes, we plan half a day.
Can we shoot at a villa or a vineyard?
Yes, but the owner must agree, and sometimes there is an access fee set by the owner. We contact them in advance and confirm the hours when you may come.
What if it rains on the day of the shoot?
We hold a spare date or move the session under cover: a palazzo courtyard, a terrace or a villa hall. The final decision is made in the morning from the forecast.
Can the shoot be combined with another celebration?
Yes, a session pairs well with a proposal, an anniversary or a weekend trip. We plan it for a morning when you have nothing else on, so there is no rush.
