An agriturismo in Tuscany is a farm first. Under the regional law farming has to remain the main activity, and the rooms and the kitchen for guests run within limits that follow from it. That is why these places are usually smaller than villas or hotels, and why the owners live on the same land and often make the oil and wine that end up on your table. For a wedding this means rustic style that is real: tables on the old threshing floor or under a pergola, vows among the olive trees, guests sleeping in barns converted into apartments. We agree with the owners what their kitchen cooks itself and what a guest chef takes on, and build the menu around their oil, wine and vegetables.

We choose level ground with shade at ceremony time, plan a path that heels can manage and keep a barn or a covered terrace ready for rain.
Rustic decor without the theatre
Wild flowers, linen cloths, wooden tables and lanterns: we add to what the farm already has instead of hiding it behind props.

The farm keeps working
Tractors go out to the fields, dogs greet the guests and in autumn the olive picking starts. We fit the date and the programme to the owners' working calendar.
Own produce by law
Tuscan regional law requires an agriturismo to serve its own produce, topped up with local and Tuscan products. That is the strength of the menu, and we build on it.
Limited numbers
Beds and covers on a farm are capped, so a large wedding may need a neighbouring farm or an outside caterer. We work this out before you commit.
Your hosts live on site
The owners' family lives on the property and their routine matters. Quiet hours, finishing time and house rules are agreed before the deposit.

What is the difference between an agriturismo and a villa?
A villa is let as a house, while an agriturismo stays a working farm with its owners, fields and kitchen. It feels warmer and simpler, with fewer beds and more rules that come from country life.
Can we book a whole agriturismo for our wedding?
Small farms often agree to close to other guests for your dates, and larger ones sometimes set aside a separate building. It depends on the owners and the season, and it is the first thing we ask.
Can we use our own caterer at a farmhouse wedding?
The owners decide. The farm kitchen cooks with its own and local produce, and for a large dinner an outside team sometimes works alongside it. We agree an arrangement that fits your guest count.
How late can a rustic wedding in Tuscany go on?
Neighbours in the countryside are usually further away than in town, but the owners live next door and the comune sets noise rules. We get the finishing time in writing before the contract.
Which season suits a farmhouse wedding best?
May and June bring green hills and gentle sun; September and early October bring warm evenings and the harvest. July and August are hot, so the ceremony moves towards evening and dinner goes under the pergola or the trees.
