Elope in Tuscany
A day built around the two of you: no guest list, a photographer and a route through the most beautiful corners of Tuscany.
An elopement is organised differently from a large celebration: there is no seating plan and no toasts, but there is time, light and place. The ceremony takes place with no guests or with two witnesses, and the rest of the day goes to portraits, walks and dinner. Preparation takes less time than for a large wedding, but it does not disappear. The main decisions concern the place and the kind of ceremony: symbolic or official, at sunrise in Val d'Orcia, on a terrace in Florence or among the vines of Chianti. We plan the route by light and season, arrange witnesses, photographer, make-up and dinner, and for an official marriage we agree every requirement with the comune.
What makes up a day for two
Place and route
We plan a route around the golden hours: sunrise among cypresses, noon in a shaded courtyard, sunset on a hill, with time allowed for travel.
The ceremony
We arrange a symbolic ceremony with a celebrant or an official registration at a comune, where the witnesses can be our staff or people close to you.
Photographer and video
We find a photographer who suits your style and plan the shoot by the light; in public places we check permissions for shooting with equipment.
Styling and make-up
We arrange a make-up artist and hairdresser on site and a trial, and set the timing so everything is ready before first light.
Bouquet and styling
We prepare a bouquet, a buttonhole and light styling for the ceremony spot: an arch, fabrics and seasonal flowers that fit into the route.
Dinner for two
We book a table on a terrace or in a restaurant, or a private chef at a villa, and arrange transport so the day ends calmly.
Tell us about your celebration
Tell us the occasion, the date and the number of guests. We will suggest a format, a venue and vendors, and prepare a fixed written estimate before any work starts.
Why an elopement still needs a planner
Short notice is possible
A small ceremony comes together faster than a large one, but free venues and photographers are booked well ahead, so check your date as early as you can.
The day follows the light
We build the schedule around sunrise and sunset in your season rather than around a restaurant timetable.
No extra people
Only the photographer, the celebrant and our team are present, so the ceremony stays quiet and you have nothing to negotiate yourselves.
The legal part is kept apart
If you want an official marriage, we explain how to prepare it and combine it with your ceremony, and we are honest about the comune's requirements.
Questions about eloping in Italy
Can we marry in Tuscany with no guests at all?
A symbolic ceremony needs no witnesses. An official registration usually requires witnesses, and we can arrange them. The conditions are confirmed with the chosen comune.
How quickly can an elopement be arranged?
A symbolic ceremony can come together in a few weeks if the venue and photographer are free on your date. For an official registration the timing is set by the comune and the consulate of your country.
What season is best for an elopement?
Late spring and September give soft light and moderate heat. Winter is quieter, but the days are shorter and the weather less predictable, so an indoor option is needed.
Can we hold the ceremony in a public place?
Sometimes, but a ceremony or a shoot with equipment on a square or in a park needs permission from the administration. Private land needs the owner's consent, which we obtain in advance.
What does an elopement day include?
Usually the ceremony, portraits in two or three places, a lunch or dinner and transport. You choose the content, and we fix it in a written estimate before preparation begins.
