Vow Renewal in Tuscany
A ceremony for the couple and those closest to them: your own words, live music and a family dinner at sunset.
A vow renewal does not register a marriage again and needs no paperwork. It is a symbolic ceremony that the couple shapes themselves, usually for a round anniversary such as ten, twenty-five or thirty years, with children, parents and close friends present. We work across Tuscany: a villa in Chianti, a winery near Siena, a garden outside Lucca or the coast of Versilia. We choose the place by guest count and season, write the script with you, arrange the host, musicians and photographer, and stay with the day from the first call to the last guest.
What we arrange
Ceremony script
We build the order with you: the entrance, the host's words, the vows, rings or gifts exchanged, a few words from the children. The ceremony runs 20 to 30 minutes with nothing superfluous.
Writing the vows
We help you find the words you will say to each other: short, personal, in the language you speak at home. A translation for guests can be prepared if needed.
Ceremony location
A garden, a terrace above the vines or a villa hall, chosen for guest count, light and a covered fallback in case of rain.
Host and music
A bilingual host, a violin or quartet for the entrance, quiet music at dinner. Sound and power are agreed with the venue owners in advance.
Photographer and videographer
Coverage of the ceremony, family portraits and the couple's walk through the hills. We time the shoot to catch the soft evening light.
Dinner for family and friends
A menu of seasonal Tuscan dishes, tables running the length of the garden, wine from neighbouring estates. If children are coming, we add a separate table and programme.
Tell us about your celebration
Tell us the occasion, the date and the number of guests. We will suggest a format, a venue and vendors, and prepare a fixed written estimate before any work starts.
How a renewal differs from a wedding
No bureaucracy
There are no documents, no comune and no consulate. The date and place depend only on your family's convenience and the weather.
The ceremony is built on your story
It is not a first walk to the altar but an account of the years behind you. The script can include photographs, words from your children and the song that stayed with you.
You choose the scale
It can be a dinner for two with a host and a photographer, or three generations in a villa for the weekend. The programme changes, the way we work does not.
One coordinator
One person from our team leads the preparation and the day itself. You receive a written estimate before any organising begins.
Questions about vow renewals
Do we need documents for a vow renewal in Italy?
No. The ceremony has no legal force and does not change your marital status, so no certificates or registration are needed. If you also want a legally binding ceremony, that is a separate procedure and the requirements depend on citizenship.
What is the best time of year for a vow renewal in Tuscany?
For a garden or terrace, May, June, September and early October are comfortable and avoid the heat of August. In autumn the grape harvest makes a fine backdrop, but venues need to be booked early.
Can the renewal take place in a church?
That is the church's decision and the conditions depend on the parish and diocese. We ask on your behalf, and if a church does not suit, we propose a garden ceremony or a chapel on the estate.
How far ahead should we start planning?
For a small ceremony of 10 to 20 people, two to three months is enough. If you want a particular season or a large villa for the weekend, write to us about six months ahead.
How many guests can we invite?
The venue and its rules set the limit. We shape the format around your guest list, from two people to a family celebration of several dozen.
