Wedding and event decor in Tuscany: furniture, lighting, linen
Styling for a courtyard, garden or hall: furniture, lighting and linen that the venue does not have.
Tuscan villas and estates are beautiful in themselves, so the task of decor is to help the space work: to place the tables, add light for the evening and bring in linen and furniture that the venue lacks. We select a decorator and a hire company for the particular place and do not repeat one template. We begin with a site visit: the courtyard, garden or hall, where the ceremony will be and where the dinner. We then prepare a sketch, a hire list and a lighting and installation plan, agree everything with the villa owner and record it in a written estimate.
What the styling consists of
Concept and sketch
After the site visit we propose an idea and a sketch of the space: where the tables, ceremony, lounge and entrance stand. The sketch is revised with you before anything is ordered.
Furniture hire
Chairs, long tables, lounge sofas, a bar counter. We choose by guest numbers and style, and take care of delivery and placing.
Lighting
String lights in trees, candles, lanterns, soft light along the paths. Power is calculated with the villa's electrical supply in mind.
Linen and table setting
Tablecloths, runners, napkins, plates, glasses. Colours are chosen to match the palette of the celebration and the flowers.
Ceremony and lounge zones
Placing of chairs, the aisle, a spot for photographs and for musicians, a corner for conversation after dinner.
Set-up and dismantling
We bring, place and check everything, and after the celebration take it all away. Working times are agreed with the venue's rules.
Tell us about your celebration
Tell us the occasion, the date and the number of guests. We will suggest a format, a venue and vendors, and prepare a fixed written estimate before any work starts.
How we work on styling
The site visit comes first
We prepare the sketch after seeing the venue and its light at the right time of day, not from catalogue photographs.
Evening light
It gets dark late in summer and early in winter. We work out when the lights go on and what power is needed so as not to overload the villa's supply.
We do not overload a beautiful venue
Often it is better to do less: leave the walls, the garden and the landscape as a backdrop and add only what is needed.
A plan for the weather
Fabric, light structures and candles cope poorly with wind and rain. We discuss a fallback in advance.
Common questions about event decor
What does event styling include?
Furniture, linen, lighting, table setting, the layout of zones and installation. The set depends on the venue and guest numbers, and we draw up the list together with you.
Can we use the villa's own furniture and decor?
Often yes, but the owner decides what may be moved and fixed. We ask for the rules in advance.
When should decor planning begin?
For a wedding usually a few months ahead, to allow for hire and the sketch; for a small celebration a couple of months are enough.
Are candles and open flame allowed?
It depends on the venue and the season: in the dry months restrictions may apply. We check the rules with the owner and propose safe options, for example LED candles.
Who clears up after the celebration?
Dismantling and removal are part of the supplier's work. We agree the removal time and the condition of the venue with the villa manager.
